Prayer for Stress Relief

prayer for stress relief

Prayer for stress relief is one of humanity's most ancient practices.

As human beings, we all eventually face many challenges and losses.
It is part of life.

So there are times when we feel the need to access resources of love, wisdom and strength beyond what seems humanly possible.

Prayer is always available to us

If God is our Creator, Omnipresent, All Powerful, the Source of our life and being, then He is always available.

It doesn’t matter where we are or what time it is. It doesn’t matter how disastrous the situation seems.

The prayer can be simple

Whatever words come from your own heart or spiritual tradition will be perfect.

I do not mean to suggest that praying will necessarily give you the specific events you are seeking. It may not make the flood waters go away, or bring back to life the loved one who just passed.

But prayer, from the heart can always give us an internal, spiritual sense of safety, comfort and peace, regardless of the external circumstances we face.

There Are Many Prayers

There are so many traditions and prayers which can soothe and inspire us. Here is one very beautiful, classic example. In the video below Andrea Bocelli sings the Lord's Prayer accompanied by a full orchestra and choir.

"Worshiping God is singing the praise of God...Worship, or prayer is not to be performed with the lips but with the heart". -M.K. Gandhi

"Pray, and let God worry." - Martin Luther

"The greatest prayer is patience....do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." - The Buddha

"Prayers go up and blessings come down." - Yiddish Proverb
